Hell on Wheels main theme
I haven’t given enough attention to this Western Series which was filmed in Alberta from November 6, 2011 to July 23, 2016 = 5 seasons. It was pretty good.
Hell on Wheels is an American/Canadian Western television series about the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad across the United States, which broadcast in the United States and Canada on the cable channel AMC.
If you like Westerns you can still pick this up on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/ca/title/70210883
Yup, I’m shamelessly plugging Alberta too.
I loved this show as well and like you, I too love Westerns – it is tied with horror films as my number one favorite genre. Anyway, I am new to this site, but keep up the great work as always 🙂
That’s kind – Thank You John. I soldier on here with a fistful of loyal followers – Bless their Souls. It’s fun.
Horror you say? I can’t do that one. I’m too sensitive I think.
I’m sure you noticed several Western Horror Movies in the last few years. Not a fan.
It seems strange to me – with the huge resource of great Western Literature that Westerns aren’t being made these days. They’re always trying to rec-invent the cartwheel it seems – and much of that doesn’t work for me.???
I tried to like this show, I really did but somehow it missed the target for me. Perhaps because they failed to effectively convey the sheer physical hardships involved in such an enormous undertaking.
I’m editing my comment. Overall I think they did a great job and it’s’ a good show. All the ingredients for a good Western are there: Concept, Production Values, Characters, Writing, Cast,Location …
I’m going back to the beginning to pick up some episodes I missed.
I always want to plug and promote Westerns in any Media.
Nice to follow you in case I miss something!
I love Hell on Wheels very much. I would love to go to Alberta. 🙂
Beautiful here. Love Arizona too though. I’ve got a few good pics to show around Jasper. Lots of wildlife – which is very hard to photograph as you know. Wasn’t entirely successful at that. Mostly pedestrian Tourist shots.
