White Bird / by It’s a Beauiful Day / 1969
Went out front the other day and saw this white feather in the middle of my lawn.
This struck me as unusual.
But I could have easily just dismissed it.
But for some reason it intrigued me
Several notions entered my mind:
Did our cat kill another bird? That was the most likely and possibly realistic conclusion.
But I wondered: what else could it mean?
Should I just move along?
For whatever reasons(?) I decided to investigate further.
In a Spiritual sense what might that a white mean?
I’d figure it would be a positve portent or message. Yes or No?
Google said:
“A spiritual sign of peace, purity, or a message from a loved one who has passed,
though historically it carried a very different connotation of cowardice.”
Goodness!!? Both positive and negative connotations!
The cowardice thing is a bit unnerving.
I liked the positive stuff though.
I also saw that an old Western called
The White Feather had been made in 1955.
I decided to check that out:
Sadly it turned out to be one of those forumla Westerns
that were shovelled out during that era.

Sadly it also Starred one of my unfavorite Actors: Robert Wagner.
Wagner seemed to have the emotional range of a cigar store indian – if you’ll excuse the expression.
But Star Power doesn’t care about Acting – just Box Office.
So he had a long career.

This thing actually made money.
Too bad.
But … I digress.
I’ll figure this white feather thing out eventually.
or just let it go.
