Light of the Seven
Like a dream that happened long ago.
Just visiting. We can’t afford this.
Leave the bottle …
A joy to share.

South of Tofino on Vancouver Island is a town called Ucluelet which means “people of the safe harbour” in the indigenous Nootka language.
It might have been safe for the Natives, but many a Whiteman and ships perished on that coast over the centuries.
Near Ucluelet is the Wild Pacific Trail – where Rose decided to go for a hike.
Suggested: A windbreaker, a walking stick, some water, and snacks.
And a camera.
This rugged Pacific escarpment has another name and reputation.
Many a sailor and ship were lost on this wind lashed coast.
Rugged and ragged.
There’s several rest points along the way.
Even in overcast the ocean is still beautiful.
Time for another rest.

It was Rose’s notion to go to Tofino.
I didn’t tell her that’s a 50/50 proposition weatherwise.
Tofino has about the highest rainfall of any place in Canada.
If it decides to rain, it can pour- and there’s not much you can do.
BUT when it’s nice, it’s paradise.
We hit the jackpot.
About the most beautiful day I’ve ever experienced here.
Others felt the same way.
Sadly the quality of some of my images were greatly diminished
due to the fact I had my camera settings wrong.
Still I hope the feeling is there.
All things bow to the Sea.

Just got back.
We took over a thousand pics.
Now I will edit them.
And try to fathom the call of the sea.
