Old Bloggy Rides Again !

OK folks …
As promised I’ve got a new Word Press Theme for my Blog.
It’s called Bloggy. 
Yep, you read that right. Bloggy. 
Kinda suits me.
I’m a bit Bloggy most of the time. 
Anyway, I hope this will cure my recent ills.

Hmmmm … Tinkering with your Blog Settings is like trying to tame a rattlesnake. DOWN BOY!

After fooling with the Settings I started to get emails every time I edited or worked on a Post.
I wondered if those same emails weren’t being sent out to you all too???
That wouldn’t be a good thing.


So I fixed it.
If you were getting any of those emails I apologize. 

Anyhow I’m back from Jasper National Park. 
My week there far exceeded what I expected. Wonderful.
I’ll be posting some stuff right away.

Howdy Folks …

I finally got hold of a great Tech person at WordPress (who identified himself as Charlie C. Thanks Charlie!). Charlie reinstalled my old WordPress Theme called Bueno – then made some adjustments that enlarge the images. Things are still not perfect because Bueno is an outdated Theme, I don’t believe it’s even offered by WordPress anymore.

At some point I may need to change/update things. But next time I’ll be a lot wiser about it and simply check out at other WordPress Blogs first and see what they are using – until I until I find one that fits my requirements. I might have to pay for that, but that’s OK as long as it works.

In meantime I’m leave things as they are and we’ll get something posted up here.

Disaster at the OK Corral …

“I AM smiling.” 

A few moons back my ‘Gunfight at the OK Corral‘ page wuz completely bushwacked. By me.

I lost the whole page. (And my temper).

I wuz just trying to figure out how to adjust the line spacing on the page … when suddenly … something went terribly wrong … the whole page disappeared … into cyberset. (Cyberset is the Western equivalent of ‘riding off into the sunset’ … ‘cept you don’t ‘ride off’ …. you just vanish … No glory … No completion … No sunset …  No kiss. It just takes one slip of your trigger finger …. and before yu can holler “Look out Billy!” the whole damn page disappears. Oft times never to be retrieved …. or even tracked … particularly by a tenderfoot blogger like myself.

And I never learned or noticed – that there was an emergency page retrieval button at the bottom … until I rode back later. Alas … too late.

Worse yet I never figured out how to do that damn line spacing thing until later.

Sooo … I’m having to rebuild the whole page – or at least what I had done so far – which was quite a bit. I will be able to do get it almost identical though, but that will take a while …

I’m paying my dues.

Good thing I don’t do this for a living.

Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid … history

I was laid low by a nasty flu for over a week. I’m not over it yet, but I think I’ll feel well enough to do some work here.

Mainly, I’ve continued research on Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. It’s worth noting that Pekinpah’s version of ‘the kid’ saga does pretty well follow the actual historical chain of events.  So those who often criticize many western movies for historical inaccuracy should take note. There are some liberties taken, such as Kristopherson’s age (32) compared to ‘the kid (20).

I’ve included a link to the Wiki which details the events. But with or without any such inaccuracies this would have been a fine piece of Western film making.
