My favorite film version of Charles Dickens great Classic:
A Christmas Carol (1843)
is Scrooge (1951) starring Alistair Sim.
I regard this as not only the finest version of this Classic,
but as one of the greatest films ever made.
Brilliant all the way around, but in particular
in the casting of Alastair Sim as Scrooge.
Some Actors seem to be born for a role
and Sim was definitely perfect for the part.

    Finally read the book. It was interesting how many lines in the film were taken directly from the book. I guess you can’t improve on a masterpiece. And I watched the film again this year as I do every year.
