    RED RIVER RANGE / 1938
    The Three Mesquiteers

RED RIVER RANGE is what they call a Western ‘Programmer’ –
These low‑budget, quickly made B‑movies were about an hour long
and made to fill out a Theater’s schedule.
John Wayne made over fifty of these small films before he reached real Stardom.

Because these films were not Main Attraction High Budget Movies
it might be unfair to grade them that way.
In fact, if John Wayne wasn’t in 8 of them, I probably wouldn’t
give them much attention at all. I watched very few of them.
Not because I couldn’t, but simply because I didn’t like them.
I didn’t regard them as REAL WESTERNS.
Even as a little kid I couldn’t watch them.
Back then I already had very strict ideals about what a Western IS
    … and what a Western ISN’T.
But I’ll get into that in another post.

    REVIEWS:

IMDB was kind. But I’m uncertain what criteria they were judging by.
Public Reviews on Rotten Tomatoes = “33%” Hmmm …

    My Favorite Westerns Review …
If John Wayne wasn’t in this, I wouldn’t watch it.
In several ways I don’t qualify this as a Western
as it violates several my own criteria as a true Western.
