Kris Kristofferson Western Filmography / Part 2
The Tracker was also released as Dead or Alive …
Kris made a few TV Westerns during this period. TV Westerns are often sneered at as being low budget fare. But budget is really only one factor of several that make up a Movie/Western production. Script/Writing, Direction, Casting, Star Power, Acting, and several other factors all combine for the quality of a film.
What I’m saying that most of Kris’s Westerns in this period were really pretty good. Not Classics, but worth a watch.
That’s quite a few Westerns Kris.
I’d never known he’d made so many Westerns, will have to watch out for them.
Hi Tim. Some aren’t easy to find now. I did like The Tracker and Lone Star.
I was a extra in the movie Heaven’s Gate. In 1979.
I was in the skating scene.
THAT must have been a hell of an experience. Cimino was really out of control and bankrupted UA so it’s said.
I was an set painter for Eastwood’s Unforgiven. It was strict set and not an enjoyable experience. Didn’t really entice to do it again. Years later I was an Extra in Cool Runnings with John Candy. A completely different experience. I actually walked up to Candy during a break and we chatted for 10 minutes. That guy had absolutely no pretentions. I think his best film work was ahead of him, so his death was a big loss.
