I know I’ve been making TOFINO sound like a paradise.
And it sure can be.
BUT …
It can also rain RAIN like Hell here.
And be cloudy, windy, and wet.
I’ve experienced that.
And others who visited here have also.
And felt that this ruined their visit.
BUT … it didn’t have to.
It all depends on what your doing … and your attitude.
The Ocean and Beaches, for instance, are still wonderous and magical
under any conditions.
With the right gear you can still explore and hike.
The Wild Pacific Trail, for instance, at nearby Ucluelet, is still
a relatively easy and enjoyable hike in any weather.
Just come prepared.
And Surfing??
You could hardly get wetter, and wet weather conditions
may actually improve Surfing = Bigger waves.
You won’t see the Beach Boys around here,
but that doesn’t stop Canadian Surfers.
Another local passion? Storm Watching.
Some folks like going down to the beach and watching
the wild surf crashing on the rocks.
I used to do it myself when I lived in Victoria.
It can be spectacular.
“There’s no such thing as bad weather, just poor clothing choices.”
Yeah.
