‘All that Glittered’ …

… really WAS Gold.

“I’ve got so much honey the bees envy me.”

My Girl / Mamas and Papas / 1967

A times we seemed to be so buried in Gold
that we don’t to see the light.

I figure that over 90% of all songs (maybe most music?)
are about LOVE.

Camelot Finale Ultimo / Richard Harris / 1967

Did I miss anybody Thom?

Only about a 1000 others …

I don’t know what kids listen too these days,
and although I’m certain there’s some good stuff around?
I’m also certain will never measure up this.

I thought it last forever ..
BUT …
slowly … surely … sadly …
It faded.
The sun was setting.
Falling back … to wherever we were before?
That tsumami; hurricane; tornado;
that had swept the world.
Had abated.

BUT …

Have You ever seen the Rain? / CCR / 1971

I still have the music.
To prove it existed.

I turned off the news right away this morning and turned on music. I feel better.

The Power Of Music. I download most everything I want from YouTube and convert
them to MP3s using a free program called Any Video Converter. Then I put
it on USB and play them in my car. Never get tired of it.

Forgot the “oldies”. (Bach, Mozart. Beethoven etc.)

I got some of that. Wasn’t raised on it though. But I do appreciate.
My parents were mainly fans of Musicals: The King and I, Oklahoma,
South Pacific, The Music Man, Camelot … they had ’em all. I can
most any song from all of them – if you can stand my singing.
      But that won’t stop me.

What a lot of research you did for that piece! And they all played well together and made a story. Well, a sad story.

It was an ‘Embarrassment of Riches’.
An embarrassment I’ve come to appreciate more and more as I go along …
