Alexander the Great?
For my own part, I would rather excel in knowledge
of the highest secrets of philosophy than in arms.
– Alexander the Great
There are a many incredible people throughout history that did amazing things that seem to defy normal human ability.
Napoleon was one. Alexander another.
I believe that if the truth about these people in what they achieved
and how they were able to do it were revealed,
most people would not believe it.
Yet I feel because of this I feel most depictions fall short.
How is possible to credibly reveal such a thing? or person?
Which is not to say that what they did would be held as positive or noble
in achievement by us – only that were able to do so.
???
Solve this my friend … and the Gordian Knot is childsplay.
Whatever possession we gain by our sword cannot be sure or lasting, but the love gained by kindness and moderation is certain and durable.
– Alexander the Great
This is another great blog post. I just watched this trailer this past week. It looks like its going to be very interesting to watch. I did finish a class that was looking at Rome and how the empire started, and we looked at Alexander the great. There is also a documentary series made about the Roman Empire.
I’m not as educated as I should be about Alexander or Rome, so I’ll look to improve my knowledge before watching it. It is all a facinating study for me. Thanks Quinn.
