Twas a time in Country Music that if you couldn’t yodel
you wuzn’t worth spit.
Nowadays hardly nobody seems can do it.
Love it.

HEY THOM!
A nod from you is worth a million to me.
Miss it.
Possible Don that modern Country Music just doesn’t offer the opportunity?
Well like Waylon said, that ain’t Country music. That just bad Pop
HAAA!
Interesting that during the 70’s quite a few Rockers started playing Country Rock (The Byrds, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Flying Burrito Brothers … many) and this really re-enlivened Country Music which was sort of the doldrums at that time (IMO).
Even the Beatles incorporated American Country music. From what I’ve read, it was HUGE in Liverpool during their youths.
I like the Byrds both as a band and as single artists, but I always considered them as folk, not country.
I actually saw the Bryds play in Calgary at Foothills Arena. They got famous particularly by covering Dylan songs during the folk era.
Wikipedia says this: The Byrds Play Dylan is the name of two different compilation albums by the American rock band the Byrds, one released in 1979 and the other issued in 2002.[1][2] As their titles suggest, each compilation consists of interpretations of Bob Dylan penned songs, which the Byrds recorded at different stages of their career.
Neither version of the album reached the charts in the United States or the United Kingdom.
Dylan songs on those albums:

“The Times They Are a-Changin'” – 2:18
“Mr. Tambourine Man” – 2:21
“All I Really Want to Do” – 2:04

“Spanish Harlem Incident” – 1:57

Side 2

“Nothing Was Delivered” – 3:24
“Lay Lady Lay [Single Version]” – 3:18
“Positively 4th Street” [Live] – 3:08

Listening to the Byrds sing Lay Lady Lay. So fine!
Last famous pop star to yodel consistently was John Denver, I believe. Maybe someone like Clint Black has also. Not familiar enough with his work to say for sure.
Hey, you and your spouse feeling better? I’ll bet there are many of us that are concerned and would welcome an update.
Thank You for your Comment Dan.
I’m sure there are some present day Country Artists who can yodel pretty well. Just seems like a lost Art. I’m still a huge Denver fan too. His early death was tragic.
Our “illness”? I’m over it now. Took about a month and half. Rose is still coughing, but seems to be on the incline – we’re going to be OK. The thing is, we could never really identify what this thing was/is? Antibiotics did nothing. It has MANY symptoms – the whole spectrum of influenza/cold illness – plus some additional ones. Never felt it could kill me – and passed the Covid Test. So still a mystery. Thank You for concern and I hope you never get it.
This knocked me of me stool …
