Kirk’s most important work:
The Douglas Foundation was founded by motion picture icon Kirk Douglas and his wife Anne in 1964, and stands as one of the entertainment industry’s largest and oldest private philanthropic institutions. The Foundation represents the charitable interests of the Douglas family and is committed to carrying on the vision of helping others who might not otherwise be able to help themselves.

Kirk has never forgotten where he came from.
There was a relatively recent interview with Kirk on TV the other day. I was impressed (all over again) with his intelligence and humanity.
Thanks Marilyn,
Yes a very fine man. I neglected to post his Charity Foundation and work over the years.
Kirk Douglas has supported the following charities listed on this site:
American Heart Association
American Stroke Association
Anne Douglas Center for Women
Anne & Kirk Douglas Playground Award
Entertainment Industry Foundation
Los Angeles Mission
PACT
Screen Actors Guild Foundation
St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters
Two years ago he Kirk and his wife, Anne, announced donated $80 million in gifts to an array of charitable causes.
This guy gives back.
A real film star, when I watched him I always believed his character , he smiled with menace one of the greats , in fact one of the top three for me.
He had it all. Charisma, intelligence, athleticism, and acting ability.
And Class.
