  1. Remington is probably Garry’s favorite artist. One of my top 5 too. I used to have some signed prints — artist’s proofs — but I couldn’t afford to frame them properly. Professional framing is insanely expensive, especially if you are dealing with old prints that need museum-quality, acid-free, UV protective framing. So I gave them to a friend who could afford to take care of them. I wish I’d been able to keep them. Thanks for the fabulous pictures.

    1. Amazing! I’m not sure I would have let them out of my sight. But preserving them was more important. Good for you.
I had a very good friend who was a framer. Might still be doing that. It’s kind of a Craft – and he was good. Yes, it’s expensive.
Glad Garry and you like this. I’m going to do something on Russel in the future.

    1. Amazing stuff. You’re right – and I still see his influence in a lot of modern work. I plan to do a post on the equally famous Western artist, Charles Russel – whose work is often confused with Remingtons.

And thank you very kindly for the Reblog !

  2. This is incredible. I had only seen Downing the Nigh Leader. Theres such energy in these paintings. You cannot deny their influence on the genre.
