Richard W. Farnsworth (September 1, 1920 – October 6, 2000) was an American actor and stuntman. His film career began in 1937; however, he achieved his greatest success for his performances in The Grey Fox (1982) and The Straight Story (1999), for which he received a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Actor.

    1. Wow! I did not know. I’m guessing as an Extra?
      I was an Extra in a couple of movies: Cool Runnings (John Candy), and Unforgiven (Clint Eastwood). Have some big memories out of that. (Unforgiven will be one of My Favorites)

      1. Sorry Garry !! LOL. Don’t know I was thinking there? Maybe it was 3 in morning or something ?
        You know, I was on Unforgiven for quite a while – and worked on many of the sets – painting and such. BUT I never saw any of the Stars: Freeman, Clint, Richard Harris, or Gene Hackman. It was just work.

    1. Yes he and Coach Wilford Brimley – a brilliant combo of casting. And the movie is definitely somewhat of a Classic in my book – eminently re-watchable.
