Glenn Ford’s ____ the 50’s __ The Fastest Gun Alive / 1956

“Let`s never forget that to remain free we must always be strong. “

– Glenn Ford

In The Fastest Gun Alive Ford plays a reluctant gunfighter (a theme that occurs in several of Ford’s Western roles) who is reluctantly forced into taking up arms against the badguys. We may well be seeing Ford’s personal philosophy at play here, whereby he expresses the need for a vigilant defence in our troubled world.

  1. what an actor I am watching the fastest gun alive right now glen ford is just fantastic in it

    1. Glenn was an awesome actor who left a good volume of Western work. Pretty well every Western he made is re-watchable. Or a Classic.

  2. Garry always referred to him as “high maintenance” as an actor, though he is very fond of his work and watches a lot of it. We both do, actually.

    1. I didn’t know that. He wouldn’t be the only actor to get that rep of course. But if you’re “Box Office’ I guess you get a little power. From the character he normally portrays you wouldn’t guess he could be any problem on set. At least he wasn’t a heavy drinker like Marvin.
