Bloody … but bloody good.
When this series first started I figured it might just be another of those mindless pseudo-epics you see on Starz – a Spartacus spin-off.
But it isn’t.
Yes, there’s lots of violence – surely some blood – but the overall production is high quality – and has continually improved.
So it’s just a matter of whether they can keep the writing on a decent level.
So far so good.
So does Rose .. same thing. Especially torture scenes. I can usually bear it – could do without it – don’t endorse it. But there was one particular execution scene in this series that was really tough. Possible a realistic enactment but … this is why I stopped watching a lot of the stuff on Starz – it’s whole purpose seemed to exploit people’s blood lust.
I never saw this one, but I still like the one with Kirk Douglas. Especially the music!
AH ! You speak of the Classic ! Borgnine as Ragnar !
Hard to match that !
This new Vikings is actually very well done – but somewhat brutal. It’s a TV show. I watched it on and off the first year and just kept getting better.
I have a problem with graphic violence. Always have.I can’t watch it. Garry always covers my eyes if he knows it’s coming. I’ll pass 🙂
